Crime news: new training available on Legal Aid Learning
Published By GOV.UK [English], Fri, May 14, 2021 3:58 AM
Criminal defence lawyers and those working in the provision of criminal legal aid services can now access new training materials online.
These are the latest additions to the new Legal Aid Agency (LAA) training and support website, Legal Aid Learning and have been developed based on user research.
Aimed at both civil and crime legal aid providers, the new website is providing a greater range of videos and quick guides to help increase knowledge amongst practitioners and improve the delivery of legal aid services in England and Wales.
User research told us that crime legal aid providers wanted guidance to be available online alongside webinars.
Training materials are now available in the following areas:
Crime Billing
Criminal Cases Unit (CCU)
Crime Applications
National Crime Team (NCT)
Criminal Finance
Crown Court Means Test (CCMT)
Accessing the training
You do not need to login to the website to access the training materials. When you click ‘go to course’ this will take you to the training materials.
Coming soon
We will also be developing more video content. This will be in addition to changes to the look and feel of the website to make it easier for providers to find what they need.
Feedback
We will be conducting more user research to shape the future development of the website. If you would like to take part please email CMIT@justive.gov.uk
