The British Embassy in Montevideo organises the “Leader for a Day” activity to celebrate International Women’s Day, after the success of the 2021 edition.

British Ambassador to Uruguay, Faye O’Connor, together with leaders from different areas of Uruguayan society, offer the possibility of sharing their activities on March 8 with women who are interested in developing their networks of contacts.

The objective is to promote the participation of women in leadership positions, giving them the opportunity to learn about the work of outstanding professionals, and to connect with top-level leaders in different fields.

How to apply?

On this occasion, the selection will be made among the women who apply for the “Hace la Fuerza” project in Uruguay. This is a six-month mentoring program that will take place in six countries in the region, and will connect first-generation university students with women who work in different areas, to help them create professional networks, gain self-confidence and boost their careers.

Those who apply to participate in “Hace la Fuerza” between February 16 and 23 may also opt to be considered for selection for the “Leader for a Day” activity on March 8.

Requirements

Being a first-generation university student in Uruguay.
