Animal medicine seizure notice: Parcels addressed to a freight company based in Slough, Berkshire

The following veterinary medicines were identified by a courier company. The products were detained and subsequently seized by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate.

The parcels were addressed to a freight company based in Slough, Berkshire and were shipped from America.

The parcels contained the following medicines:

6 x ACTH Gel 10ml

30 x Arnica + 50ml x 30

62 x B 12 5000 mcg

12 x Caco Iron Copper 100ml

6 x Equimed TQ 50ml

12 x Gel – 50 50ml

12 x Glandular Peptide Extract 30ml

12 x Lactanase 2 x 50ml

118 x P Block 100ml

12 x Pentosan P.S. 250mg/ml 24ml

These products are intended for use in horses and are not authorised veterinary medicines in the UK. The majority were injectable products and included anti-inflammatories and tranquilizers.

The medicines were seized under Regulation 25 (Importation of unauthorised veterinary medicinal products) of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013.
