Animal medicine seizure notice: Parcel addressed to Belfast, County Antrim

The following veterinary medicines were identified by a courier company based at a Belfast depot. The products were then detained and subsequently seized by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA).

This parcel was addressed to residential premises in Belfast, County Antrim and was shipped from India. The parcel contained:

Two boxes of Toxo-mox 250 (200 tablets)

Ten boxes of Drontal plus tablets (200 tablets)

These medicines were not authorised UK medicines.

A UK authorised version of Drontal plus is available and this is intended for use in dogs as a wormer. Toxo-mox 250 was labelled as an antibiotic therapy for use in cats and dogs.

The medicines were seized under Regulation 25 (Importation of unauthorised veterinary medicinal products) of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013.
