Family owned and run, Trelawne Manor Holiday Park in Looe won the silver award at the prestigious Cornwall Tourism Awards which celebrates excellence across the tourism industry in the county.

The awards, which are in their 20th year, were held virtually with Robin Barker, director of Services for Tourism hosting alongside BBC Radio Cornwall’s Daphne Skinnard on 3rd February.

Building on the success of a commended status at the 2020 awards, Trelawne Manor adapted their business to provide much needed holiday respite for thousands of UK holiday makers. There was a renewed focus on outdoor activities with the outdoor pool and flume taking centre stage along with a newly pedestrianised outdoor eating and drinking area outside the historic manor house at the heart of the park.

"Everything our team do is from the heart," said Park Manager, Mario Alves, "This is an outstanding result for us and we will be celebrating."

Trelawne Manor has been part of the John Fowler Holiday Parks group since 2000. It is a third generation family run business with several family members actively involved in the day to day running of the company alongside the team based on the park. The park is in the grounds of the Trelawny Manor estate which dates back to the 1500s and features extensive grounds and private fishing lake. It has a fleet of just under 300 caravans alongside self catering holiday apartments.

Following the success at the awards, Cathie Higgs, Sales Director, commented: “We are absolutely thrilled and proud to take the silver award for Holiday Park of the Year. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff who went above and beyond in a very difficult year. We have exciting plans for 2022 when we hope to build on our recent success.”

The park re-opens for 2022 on the 4th March. Prices start at £79 for a 3 night break in low season and £289 in school holidays
