Cosmo Switch and app combine to create a fully customisable experience which powers-up accessibility within Special Education Needs and Disabilities.

London, November 3rd, 2021- Assistive technology company Filisia announces the launch of Cosmo Switch, a smart wireless accessibility device, specially designed to support people with cognitive and physical disabilities accessing their computers, tablets and other devices.

Georgios Papadakis, CEO of Filisia says, “We have worked hard over several years with different professionals within the sector to produce Cosmo Switch. Not only does it cater for individuals with both physical and intellectual disabilities, but it is highly customisable as well. Almost every possible setting an individual may want, relative to their condition or preference, is available to set via our simple and free app”

Filisia’s Cosmo Switch (called a ‘Cosmoid’) is made of incredibly durable materials meaning despite its sensitivity it can withstand heavy use. A highly dynamic device, users can decide on the input characters, colours, responsiveness, brightness and light modes. The device enables people who would otherwise struggle through a disability access key software which is important to their day to day living, as well as helping control media such as Spotify and Netflix. Other Cosmoids can be added to take advantage of the Cosmo Training app, an iPad based platform which uses activities, games and lesson plans to motivate different skills of users.

Papadakis continued, “We believe we are tackling some of the major problems in our sector which has not only suffered from a lack of innovation overall, but has also been struggling to meet the challenges of remote learning and therapy caused by COVID. We have developed a digital technology which is easy and fun to use and has a diverse range of applications. The world is really waking up to different conditions and the importance of early intervention. Autism diagnoses for example have increased twenty fold in the last 20 years based on a better understanding of the spectrum.”

Researchers from the Universities of Birmingham and Cambridge concluded that Cosmo significantly improves the engagement, communication and emotional regulation. Filisia’s Cosmo system supports learners with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, brain injury and other conditions. It has also found a clear place in driving inclusive learning, therapy and play both at school and at home, giving classrooms and families with children of differing abilities real opportunities to interact together.

Cosmo is available through the Filisia website (www.filisia.com) or through Amazon in the UK and US. For more specialist stockists please contact us.

Filisia are currently seeking funding for their next stage of growth which will enable them to increase their market reach and help drive their mission to enable learners, whatever their condition, live life to the fullest.
