Mehiel Foundation Brightens Christmas for Hundreds of Families

Mehiel Foundation is a small charitable organisation based in Oxfordshire, UK, founded in 2010 which has undertaken over 30 projects in 14 countries around the world. Its primary aim is to tackle the underlying causes of poverty and social injustice, in order to deliver lasting change in the lives of underprivileged and vulnerable people.
Every Christmas Mehiel Foundation packs sacks of groceries for hundreds of families in the UK, Uganda, Ghana, Zambia and Pakistan.
They work with schools, churches and food banks which identify the most vulnerable families in their communities who would benefit from the charity's offering.
Every sack includes fruits, vegetables, pasta, rice, sauces, cans of soup, sweets, a whole chicken and many more goodies costing around £23.
As a result of the pandemic, nearly six in 10 families said they are struggling to cover the cost of three or more basic essentials, including food, utilities, rent, travel or child-related costs.
Lawrence Patrick, Mehiel Foundation’s founder commented: “With millions of people being affected by food insecurity and the ongoing pandemic pushing this number ever higher, a sack of groceries is the least we can do to support the local communities during such challenging times.”
