The British Society of Soil Science is proud to cordially invite you to our Press Conference at the 22nd World Congress of Soil Science, on Sunday 31 July 2022 from 5:15 – 6:00pm at the SEC, Glasgow, room M3.
In an interactive forum we will be sharing key scientific findings, the latest policy debates and topical news angles. A media preview of His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales’s pre-recorded address to the 22nd World Congress of Soil Science in Glasgow (embargoed until Thursday 4 August at 6:30pm) on the importance of conserving our soils will be shown at the Press Conference.
“There is an amazing amount that can be done. It is a combined responsibility of all of us, the public sector, private sector and civil society to work in harmony, rather than in conflict, with nature.” His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales.
Straight after the press conference, we would love you join us at the Opening Ceremony, where His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester KG, is set to open the congress. In his speech, His Royal Highness will be highlighting the importance of soil health to mankind and share his thoughts on conservations, farming, cutting-edge land management, international collaborations and food security.
Soil health has a major impact on all our lives: your support in in this unique endeavour is very important, and we hope to welcome you and your colleagues at the 22nd World Congress of Soil Science in Glasgow.
The Congress marks the Society’s 75th anniversary and we have been the go-to organisation for the media, policymakers, government, stakeholders and educators on soil science related issues during that time. We will be at hand during the press conference to answer any questions, provide key stats, evidence-based data, quotes and to set up interviews with industry leaders.
Alternatively, if you would like to join us on our Soil Policy Day on Tuesday 2 of August, drawing together an expert group of invited speakers to discuss the complexities, challenges and opportunities of soil policy and governance, receive information about our post conference policy report, or attend the Closing Ceremony, please also get in touch.
