Family-Owned Store, Light & Scent, Celebrates 2000 Clients

This month saw Hull’s Light & Scent hit the milestone of 2000 clients, despite the current pandemic.

Run by the mother-and-daughters team of Christine, Jade and Claire, Light & Scent opened its physical Humber Street store on the 24th of October last year. The business moved from being an exclusively online boutique to letting customers shop local for the Christmas period and beyond.

Despite strict restrictions and even stricter in-store protections, the business refused to crumble – hitting 2000 clients on the 30th of April 2021.

However, it hasn’t been easy, as Christine says “The period has been tough for all of us. We’re delighted that we’ve managed to hit this many recurring customers. We’ve had three generations of shopper coming through our doors. And we’re happy to know that home across the country – and the world - have been made a little brighter by our candles”.

But the team has bigger plans ahead.

Light & Scent are committed to growth and giving back to the Hull area. This includes an ongoing recruitment drive for staff and sourcing local talent to help expand the business. All while keeping things fair, family-owned, and suitable for shoppers of all ages and backgrounds. As Christine’s daughter, Claire adds: “We’ve been lucky that our on and offline audience is so varied. We have mothers, daughters, sons, grandparents, everyone coming through our doors and visiting the site. We’ve been so fortunate to have such diverse and quality-focused customers.”

To celebrate their success they’ve added a SPRING20 discount code for new and old clients to their online store. As Christine’s daughter Jade said: “We can’t believe it.
