Disabled York lady braves the Dragons' Den

A lady from York will be flying the flag for disabled entrepreneurs everywhere when she appears in series 19 of Dragons’ Den this week.

A lady from York will be flying the flag for disabled entrepreneurs everywhere when she appears in series 19 of Dragons’ Den this week. Her business Neo Walk make handmade acrylic walking sticks and send them all over the world.

“While I was in the Den for an hour and we talked about what it’s like to run my growing business from a wheelchair. It’s great to show people with disabilities succeeding in business, and for me to represent my community on tv is going to be very special. I wish more tv shows and the media in general included us in the spotlight like this.”

Lyndsay started her business 9 years ago and has seen it grow most recently using social media to connect with her customers.

“During lockdown my work kept me sane! We make so many walking sticks, and we know each one we send out could be life changing for someone, giving them the confidence and security to walk with a mobility aid.”

Lyndsay, mum to Bob and Hannah, lives in York with her husband Richard and is self-confessed dogaholic. She has 4 dogs who are all part of the Team. Lyndsay became an amputee in 2010 and since then has created an amazingly varied CV for herself. She trained in aerial circus arts to perform in the London 2012 Paralympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
