Water poverty alleviation charity, Hope Spring announce the three new clean water projects they will be working on in the final quarter of 2021. The Herefordshire based NGO, who work solely in the water, sanitation and hygiene segment of international development made the announcement on Monday the 13th of September 2021 from their office in Hereford.
The start of autumn in the UK heralds the beginning of the dry season in West Africa. The dry season is the time when water poor communities face the greatest challenge, as communities without a sustainable source of water have to travel even further to access clean water. According to Hoe Spring trustee, Temi Odurinde “this is the best time to drill wells and boreholes, because new water wells constructed in the dry season tend to provide water to the beneficiary community all year round”.
Mr Odurinde added “that is why our volunteers in Nigeria and Sierra Leone are getting ready to complete the projects we have lined up for the last quarter of 2021!. Some of the confirmed projects Hope Spring will be working on include two borehole projects and a well in Nigeria. With at least another borehole in rural Sierra Leone.
For team Hope Spring in the UK, the last quarter of the year is equally busy. Apart from providing support to the volunteers working on water projects in Africa, they are busy preparing and putting the finishing touches to their Christmas fundraiser, the Hope Spring Christmas eCard website.
You can find out more about about Hope Spring dry season clean water projects via their social media pages. Details of their sanitation and hygiene projects can be found on our project section of the website.
