His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales helped support relief efforts by Islamic Relief, by donating to the charity who are currently assisting people in Pakistan hit by catastrophic floods.
More than 33 million people have been affected by the disaster in Pakistan as heavy rainfall has resulted in catastrophic flash flooding across the country.
According to local authorities the death toll has surpassed 1,000, with over 1,500 injured and millions displaced.
Islamic Relief UK is currently assisting people with food packs, tents, hygiene kits and cash grants.
Many parts of Pakistan have become inaccessible, and rescuers are struggling to evacuate thousands of stranded people from affected areas. Balochistan and Sindh provinces are the hardest hit areas.
Tufail Hussain, Director of Islamic Relief UK said: “His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales has shown great compassion and kindness by helping the people of Pakistan and we are extremely grateful and thankful to him for this beautiful gesture. This will make a huge difference to those affected.
“Pakistan is currently experiencing one of the worst floods to hit the country and much more support is needed by the international community. We urge everyone to take inspiration from HRH, The Prince of Wales and do what they can to help those whose lives have been devastated by this disaster.”
