As announced earlier this year, the new Mayor Paweł Adamowicz Award will honour those working with courage and integrity against intolerance, radicalisation, hate-speech, oppression and xenophobia. Those who promote equal opportunities, social integration and fundamental rights. Those who are inspired by and carry on the legacy of Paweł Adamowicz.

The nomination process for the 2021 edition of this prestigious Award is currently open and, due to high-levels of interest, the deadline for submitting nominations has been extended to the 30th of September 2021. It is intended that the Award will be presented at the end of this year.

Groups of 15 (or more) Members of the European Committee of the Regions can come together to nominate a person or organisation for the Award. Full details of the nomination process can be found on the Award Website, along with a link to the online nomination form.

The Mayor Paweł Adamowicz Award is a joint initiative of the European Committee of the Regions, the City of Gdańsk and ICORN (International Cities of Refuge Network.) More information about the Award can be obtained from the Award Secretariat.
