CPVO and LUISS School of Law sign cooperation agreement

Reinforcing the relationships between the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) and leading universities from across Europe is important in order to explain and promote the values, benefits and challenges of plant variety protection to a greater number of law students and professionals in the field of intellectual property rights.

The Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) and Luiss Guido Carli University have concluded an agreement that will allow selected students from the Master in Food Law to enrich their academic record with a 1-year internship at the Office in Angers (France). In addition, Luiss University may invite experts from the CPVO to give a lecture to its students.

Both parties recognize the importance of specialized training to provide young lawyers with expertise on intellectual property rights and, more in particular, on plant varieties rights. The mission of the CPVO, indeed, is that of protecting and boosting innovation in the plant breeding sectorin the search for solutions to environmental and climate challenges.
